Statistical Reproducibility of Meta-Analysis for Medical Mask Use in Community Settings to Prevent Airborne Respiratory Virus Infection

چکیده

Many US states, cities, and counties implemented public masking orders during the coronavirus (COVID) pandemic on notion that this intervention would delay flatten epidemic peak largely benefit health outcomes. A p-value plot can provide insights into possible inappropriateness (incorrectness) of assumptions a statistical model. It be used to confirm, disprove, or identify ambiguity (uncertainty) in meta-analytic finding research claim. Stability Analysis of a Fractional Order Model of HIV virus and AIDS Infection in the Community

In  this  paper a  non-linear  model  with  fractional  order  is  presented  for  analyzing  and  controlling the  spread  of  HIV virus.  Both  the  disease-free  equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium are  found  and  their  stability is  discussed. The basic reproduction number , which is a function of the constant parameters in the model, plays an essential  role in the stability of  the ...

Unmasking the confusion of respiratory protection to prevent influenza-like illness in crowded community settings.

The 2009 novel influenza A(H1N1) (hereafter " nH1N1 ") pandemic has sparked renewed interest in, and controversy regarding , the use of respiratory protection to reduce influenza transmission. Use of masks to prevent influenza generally applies to 2 populations: health care workers (HCWs) providing care for patients with proven or suspected influenza to both protect the HCW and prevent nosocomi...

Optimization of the electrospinning process of polyurethane nanofibers and their filtration performance for use in respiratory protection mask filters

Background and Aim: Electrospun nanofibers can be used to produce filter media in personal protective equipment for the military. The present study aimed to optimize the electrospinning process used to create polyurethane nanofiber substrates and compare the optimum substrate filtration performance with a typical commercial substrate used in the structure of N95 respirators. Methods: In this ex...

Airborne infection control in healthcare settings

Exposure of human beings to different airborne pathogens has resulted in the emergence of epidemics of respiratory infections. This airborne transmission becomes even more prevalent in healthcare settings because of overburdened hospitals and the presence of immunosuppressed patients. Airborne infection control measures include a three-pronged approach, namely administrative control, environmen...
